Dawn

It was barely visible at first,
Like thin shards of Hope
Amid a growing haze of grey.
The visage of Death and crime
Was evaporating into nothingness.
Men could see a golden dream,
Rising near the horizon of the sky.
A burning desire was growing inside.
The world had transformed in seconds.
The battle of Time was won by light,
As its chariots raced inwards,
Breaching the uneasiness and incompetence,
Tearing the unknown, showing the way.
The land seemed to rise upward
To meet with the dancing rays of fire,
As they descended, filled with energy,
A quiet, sparkling spectacle;
The Earth which was painted in
Everlasting gloom and disaster, was evolving,
Slowly breaking its inhibitions and fear;
A silent death and an astounding resurrection;
The thick cloud of cold and dark
Began to thin and disintegrate.
It never stood a chance.
The air which had tensely awaited the arrival
Of the inevitable, holding its breath,
Granting it time for a grand spectacle,
Growing restless, had its wish fulfilled.
The gates of Heaven had opened
And Earth was drenched with the fire of Hell,
As a wave of light enveloped all,
Burning with renewed strength and vitality,
A blinding aura;
Dust had the radiance of gold.
The sky, a master craftsman and deceiver,
Had a sudden change of palette, change of mood,
As it diluted to a transparent coat;
It had shown the first signs of rebellion,
In a world where darkness pulled the reins,
And screams got drowned in the vastness of Night,
When pain is pleasure, mystery, the rule;
But that is now past.
Dawn had arrived.
It took pride in its beauty.
The ship which had sailed with a promise,
Had returned, keeping it.
What it carried was spreading quickly,
Filling the cracks, aiding the blind;
It was the sea of hope,
It meant some good still survived,
Worth fighting and living for.
The shades of grey had been wiped clean
And a brilliance of colours replaced them,
Stimulated by the touch of freedom and hope,
Cloaked golden by the aided light;
The highest Deliverance encountered by Man.
The source of energy, the fountain of joy;
The picture of forever spring on Earth,
Everlasting Life;
One could never fathom the power of a gift.
