Minimal Pace

A distant run;
Alone, uncertain, uncharted;
Anxiety fills up,
Drowning the fears,
The world watches
Or sleeps;
The day begins to run,
Show-time, the real grind,
Forward and far,
A distant run;
Feet tapping on the road,
The earth greeting you with force,
Like men deserve to live.
It frees my hindrances.
Heart beats cruise, vision clears,
The road flows beneath,
No more waste, no more wait,
The familiar ground is past,
It lies behind.
Cannot turn,
Picking up momentum,
Surroundings drown,
A rhythm rise,
So does unknown pain,
Shortage of air,
I am drowning in air.
Must stop,
Retrospect,
Become enriched;
A new energy surge,
An old reckoning,
Primitive, hungry,
Pain recurs,
So does focus,
Undying will,
Reasons fade,
Just the road and me,
Run fast, run far,
The pain was temporary,
But necessary;
Spirit restructured,
Drenched in strength,
The way to live.
The difficult, conquered.
Lesson learnt alone,
Obstacles did not grow,
Only the strength to rise beyond them
Became bigger;
Some get everything,
Born in it all,
Others strive and get,
And history is written,
At minimal pace.
