The Eternal Seeker

Knowledge is hidden for the common kind,
The fleeing mind cherish pleasures
And travel the road of life unknown,
They seek happiness, ever fleeting, ever young,
To stash their soul on the earth,
That end is not a happy one;
For the pleasure of seeking the truth evades,
Leaving one empty, destined to decay,
They consume and fake happiness,
Their life is non-living with nothing to offer,
All they want are a pair of eyes,
That is their life, their lie.
But for those with the thirst of Nature deep,
Who cleans the dusty book to learn,
For them the cost of money is dust,
And time is more precious than diamond.
Deep knowledge is their truth,
Their strings of emotion lightly dance,
The bridges they burn light the way,
They reach the soul in need of love,
Like light that shines brighter than joy,
And give them more than they can think,
But those like them are rare to find,
Harder to understand still,
Stuck between the now and forever.
The secret to their eternal joy,
Is eternal sorrow which you do not see,
For those who know the dark that well,
Can only show the way;
In radiance as in darkness,
They have the same freedom,
My tears for the quiet life departed,
Or unjustly so, not the weak,
There is a certain pride in death,
Felt by the seeker of knowledge and love,
Their presence being felt by those that count.
Such a feeling cannot be shown or shared,
Nor can it be documented,
But only lived and set free.
The poor have given up on truth,
For survival is the greatest teacher,
Which has not students only victims,
Just like war of any kind,
All of us are forever poor,
All are hungry for something more,
But some are the right kind of hungry,
Seek out knowledge and ask the universe,
And you will find it someday,
Between now and forever.
