Absence

The leaves decay and fall on the ground,
And the once known path becomes a forgotten pile,
The river withers and leaves no trail,
The birds have flown away,
In search of better lives.
The Sun has left and the warmth is gone,
Life is lost in a long way home,
The darkness comes in darker hues,
None welcome it, like an abandoned child.
It is not loved or chosen,
But it is a child of Nature,
It inspires a few undaunted,
And leaves the rest blind,
Those who care not and whine,
Stuck in the same frame.

I grant you life, I grant you freedom,
But you are incapable of life now,
While I have nothing, no one,
No love, no care, no chains,
Only a bittersweet romance with Time,
And in time, with you.
In my absence, you will grow,
In my love you will wander far,
In my life you will gain its absence,
Only to be eternal,
And you will know,
To be eternal.
