The Odyssey of Happiness

And in the breeze of autumn trees,
I found the love of birth,
Sought paradise, opened my eyes,
Found my heaven on earth;

Like the empty stare of a desert bare,
Had lost what I held dear,
Though I lost the good, never thought I would,
Get the chalice of happiness here;

With the sea of calm that ends the storm,
The life of struggle is dead,
As night refutes and dawn dilutes,
The colour of love is red;

With the colour inflamed, destiny tamed,
Trickles of desire storm,
And like the birth of love on earth,
Crimson hues are born;

The colours dance with my romance,
The palette of darkness shine,
And even though it may come and go,
Light and darkness define;

For who can say which one will stay,
Forever clung to a soul,
The dark undesired, in the end gets tired,
And happiness becomes the goal;

But the outcast few, with evergreen hue,
Who united the dark and light,
Surrender to none, are the happiest one,
Having felt the horizon in sight;

What to do when 'the one' greets you,
Passion runs outside,
To light a fire, burning desire,
Where feelings cannot hide;

Go with the flow or deal a blow,
For all things true must end,
To dim the fire and curb desire,
Let silence be thy friend,

As leaves decay, fall in the way,
And happiness is bound,
Tread too light, the leaves they might,
Crumble before being found;

Too soft to touch these feelings clutch
The barren soul too well,
And those around know love abound,
Before the kingdoms fell;

Bliss is grey, where dreamers stay,
While Time relentless fly,
A single step may trickle a break,
And tumble without a why;

The slate is bare, like an astute stare
Is asking you to fill,
And what you write, defines the bright,
Before it starts to kill;

For who can say which one will stay,
Between your destiny and fate,
Work the clock before you stop,
Else the odyssey sings too late;

So gauge your time, though past your prime,
It may turn better than is,
This odyssey that is but me,
Must end in sheer bliss.
