Thy Kingdom Come

Morning rises like a phoenix from the ashes of despair,
Fending to the broken when hope is all but there,
Abundance of fire within dispels the darkened hate
Cordoned by ignorance, usher knowledge through the gate
Of heaven, a serene agitation ensues today,
The fountainhead of a drunken day,
Filled with the mastery of self and mind,
Wisdom to seep in and courage to bind,
In forever halls of purpose at play,
I find my soul, ignite my day;

Long before the sultriness of an afternoon of quell,
I gathered my ground against the wind where the mighty fell,
And when after the plunge the dull calm did dwell,
We roamed together like victors would, in the rising tides of Hell,
The day was fierce, the purpose sure,
And the heavens witnessed the burden we bore,
Unwavering we rose and stood our mark,
Defending the true, banishing the dark,
And every hand that called for aid,
Was met long before their light could fade;

An enlightened era comes to a close as another rises afar,
The journey from dawn to dusk is done, filled with battle scars,
To retrospect just lose yourself within this hallowed ground,
The turning time begins to stop, the soul is lost and found,
Mastering the morning, crusading the night,
Transforming ourselves to match the fight,
Where faith is found through those beside you,
And love inflamed causes dreams to be true,
Our life was love, our morals true,
Come ride the greatness that I find in you.
