Grad Life Rap (The worst rap ever)

I remember the time I got in, to be a grad
Spending a lot of money, it made me sad,
Those times were bad, my future insecure,
Until I reached the grad-life door,
New faces, new work, new hopes, new life,
A robot working from ten to five,
Life was a line, the routine was new,
It was under control, distractions were few,
Thought I’d learn something better and useful,
Apply it; rise up, the dream was pretty cool,
But dreams have a habit of getting worse,
And real fast too, like under a curse;

One wrong step, I saw my dreams die,
I was lazy not to make another try,
It was my fault and I don’t know why
I failed to check it and then time flew by;
Instead of the driver, I blamed the ride,
And thus began my downhill slide,
Though I got back up, it was on the wrong side,
My boat was caught in the grad-tide.

Slowly I started enjoying myself,
Working with others eager to help,
Things began moving, starting to flow,
It opened my mind, ready to know,
It changed my way of looking at life,
I was happy living the ten to five,
Took up challenges, new or faced,
Learnt to get a bit more stressed,
Things were smoother than at first,
But slowly my ideas started to rust,
As I got bound in the given frame,
Left the ride, began cursing the lane;

While everyone ran, I started to slow,
Forcing my mind, unwilling to go,
Results were out; I had nothing to show,
Things were hard because I thought it so;
It’s sad when you look at life that way,
Instead of knowing what you've gained,
Live the moments, don’t sum each day,
I think you know what I want to say.

You learn the most from those you meet,
Scavenging, bunking and how to cheat,
Though some are true and stay till the end,
The rest treat you how you treat them,

There are those working lies and deceit,
Fork-tongued people trying to chew every bit,
Many faced, geek heads, excited or half-dead,
Wasted days, hangover in bed,
Sad souls, lost art, daily depressed,
Going-out-freak, always ready to get dressed,
Unstable, unclear or a museum relic,
And those who make you feel happy or sick,
Ignorant, arrogant, joker or lazy,
Fake lovers, simple, stupid or crazy,
Wicked minds trying to be overly mature,
Playing every side of the human nature;

You could study them all or let them go by,
Don’t stop worrying or let time fly,
And at the end when the end is nigh,
Get depressed, complain or get high;
However life was, it was made by me,
You can never take this part of my memory,
However I rise, whatever I’ll be,
It will be the pages of my history;

Whatever you do, don’t come to me,
Tell me I didn't warn you or blame somebody,
High or low, that’s what you’ll be,
Because it’s tough getting a college degree.

Disconnected

You can forget me,
I will not mind.
For today I,
Reached the bottom,
After hitting the ground;
Slipped and fell,
Descending for years;
I know it for sure,
I've never been so far
Down from the top;
No sign of life,
No existence of time,
Only way now is up.
Back to basics;
Hard work will help,
So will consistency,
Hunger to rise,
To emerge;
Not in this world,
To the one I crave,
The one I want to create,
And I will.
Thus it starts,
From this time on,
This is day one,
No days off.
The time is right,
The fear is gone,
My will is strong,
Purpose is sure.
That’s all I need,
Now, I can smile.

Let The Sun Rise

Subdue those feelings in my heart,
I’ll be fine if I look away,
Capture those moments making you smile,
Losing them somewhere on my way;
Oh! All the broken hearts afloat,
Sailing in the river tracing boat,
Going somewhere you’re not sure,
Let the sun rise just once more,
I can never tell you how I feel,
Never to meet if another life be real,
Watching the sun set, all alone,
Let the sun rise just once more;

Smiling though your heart is in pain,
Hiding those tears in the rain,
Guilt is greater than your shame,
People don’t remember your name;
And in the evening of our days,
When we've lost our choice of ways,
So when I greet you at your door,
Let the sun rise just once more;
For the life you never chose to be,
When our deeds flow down the sea,
As the sun sets by that shore,
Let the sun rise just once more;

Forgotten moments that I've lived,
Moments I don’t wish to keep,
Dreams of things I wanted to gain,
From which I've willingly abstained,
For circumstances are adverse in life,
The hero always struggles to rise,
At the darkness of its core,
Let the sun rise just once more;
Keep the joy of knowing you’re alive,
Making something out of this life,
Meeting you when I explore,
Let the sun rise just once more.

In The End

As the day comes to a close,
Sunlight fades to a golden glow,
Rising darkness emerging slow,
Time has paused in its flow,
And my soul is not willing to go,
Lost a friend, not long ago;
Sitting by his side, the silence speaks,
While he rests peacefully underneath,
The voices playing inside my head,
Too bold to lead, too meek to spread,
Slowly consuming a part of me,
As I close my eyes, forget reality;
Trying to capture the memories shared,
I feel them slipping, I had not cared
To preserve them, and now I find myself
Wanting to wake my friend and ask for help,
And I realize, although I didn’t see,
It was the only thing that he left me;
Sadness grows as I rise to depart,
Tears are only for the weakest heart,
I cannot cry, that sense is gone,
With a hollow heart I must carry on,
Filled with regret for the moments lost,
Waiting to fathom what the priceless cost,
Should’ve given more time, he was a good friend,
Only if I’d known what lay in the end.

Confined

The darkness seems aglow, painted by aided light,
A candle burning slowly in the rainy night,
Outside the cold winds blow, the moon is on the sky,
It looks another way, seen by another life,
If sorrow never leaves you, Time becomes a pain,
If age has left you now, you don’t remember when,
Your features make you blur and you don’t look the same,
Like you would if you had a name;

Sitting inside my cell, watching my life go by,
I can’t remember when my teardrops drown the sky,
Outside the storm may calm, never the same inside,
It’s like the ashes rising, when the fire died,
Imprisoned in a cell, locked up inside my thoughts,
Until the vibrant mind has turned to brittle rot,
Living the life oppressed, the stronger roams about,
Caged in for shouting out;

Counting the stars aglow, like golden fire spots,
I feel my thoughts back tracking to connect the dots,
Moments of solitude, moments of love and pain,
Pictures are pouring down, like droplets in the rain,
But when it strikes the ground, the pictures break apart,
Like feelings leaving when, a lover breaks a heart,
I try collecting them and storing on the rack,
In hopes of returning back;

I see another life, a life devoid of glee,
I didn’t know back then what it was meant to be,
The grey would turn to black, the colours drenched in gloom,
Living a world with rules, set for impending doom,
And all I used to feel, how love can be so grim?
I never had a guide, just when I needed him,
Swayed off the course too fast, fell in the deepest pit,
Where no other light can be lit;

The rain begins to calm, my mind begins to ease,
Feeling the droplets floating in the sudden breeze,
The free are free to roam; their thoughts are never tied,
Why does the world behave then, like it’s not alike?
And while the child’s asleep, the evil plays about,
And he is left to wake up in a world of doubt,
So when he tries to dream, the world is not so kind,
Just like me he lives confined;

I’ve lived my life, in utter sacrifice,
Looking through metal bars, at the clear skies,
Maybe the dreams are gone; maybe the hope’s alight,
I hear my heart still beating in the silent night,
Climbing through narrow panes, to the world outside,
Floating through clouds ablaze, on a final ride,
I hear my mind go free, starting to speak alike,
Maybe it’s time to rise….

Half past Time

The light I see,
The rain I hear,
The winds I feel,
Will disappear;
The beauty seen,
The beauty felt,
Will someday,
Leave me here;

The rhythm of a clock,
Like heartbeats count,
My life on earth,
A limited phase;
Time untied,
Will flow away,
And lead me to,
The end of my days;

As I leave,
A vibrant earth,
This surreal,
End of time;
God knows where,
I’ll open my eyes,
Once again,
After I die;

A life is born,
A life is lost,
The cycle goes on,
Relentlessly;
The time I live,
The work I do,
The things I leave,
Can live beyond me;

If I choose,
To leave behind,
Footprints drawn,
On new frontiers;
To leave ideas,
To be ideal,
And show them a way,
When I’m not here;

The people may lose,
Their state of mind,
But hope won’t be,
For a counted few;
I stand for them,
In my life,
Try and create,
Something new;

Man progress,
The future lies,
For us to start,
On the present day;
To build something,
Like a sapling springs,
Growing into a tree,
On a future day;

Live in peace,
And leave fulfilled,
A life is great,
Life is divine;
Let them be proud,
For the life I lived,
When my time is past,
At half past time….

Pass Away

No time to weep for an untimely rift,
Feelings numbed for a saddened heart,
My daily life catches me on too fast,
Those emotions drift apart;

A slight change in daily affairs,
Only you won’t be in that frame,
Never got to say how much I valued
You, until we meet again;

Though change must come and it will,
Time cannot freeze or turn about,
The frost will melt, the leaves will fall,
The burning candle shimmers out;

But under the shade of the tree that stood,
And around the candle flame,
The pleasure we had, the knowledge gained,
Can never be found again;

Alone we walk our chosen path,
And meet a few, who care,
I only wish wherever you go,
You find a good friend there;

Though feelings come and feelings go,
As do the people we meet,
A silent thanks to all those who
Molded my character beneath;

The sands of time will trickle down,
And the truth will finally come,
The sorrow felt will pass away,
Leaving us where we had begun;

The truth that someday we will leave,
And go to a different place,
I hope to touch a few lives here,
And travel with that solace.

Earth Bound

Never before have you looked so beautiful,
With the soft wind blowing your hair,
Radiating the confidence of a young sunrise;
Your presence was all I wanted,
All that I wished for, like everlasting love;
I have found you and I have found your heart,
As we walk together, hand in hand,
Towards a happy beginning but a sad end,
I only wish I die, with you beside me.
Slowly but surely it will come to an end,
When all the moments, the joy will dissolve,
The memories and timeframes linger more,
The light will slowly start to fade out,
All sadness and struggle will wither away;
The cracks deepen as it grows downwards,
All but the strongest is left standing,
Somehow I feel the same way,
As happiness survives, pain fades away,
I am at peace for now, for the moment,
This moment, the present, the time is right,
We are dancing with the waves of the rising tide,
Romancing the light of the solitary moon,
Floating with the green of the leaves and land,
Where contentment and pleasure merge,
Inside the frontiers of reality;
The earth is my heaven,
The azure bliss my home,
Here the beauty of life and existence is pure,
It flows in me till the day I die,
That is where we are inseparable;
Together we are but not forever,
Because I would not be there at your last,
But now that you think of it, maybe I will,
Do not worry about me though,
I have learnt how to live after life,
Nothing is inevitable if we do not want it to,
Words and ideas can wake up even the dead,
I am the force of life,
But like all life forms, earth bound,
Bound, like in life and death we are.

Be Strong... (A Tribute To A Deceased Friend)

When I do not open my eyes tomorrow,
May the hearts of none be filled with sorrow;
As the rising waves finally engulf me,
And I return to the earth and sea,
Tell my mother I tried my best,
That I've just gone awhile to rest.
Dissolve the pain now that we're apart,
As I leave the strings that tied our heart,
From my end alone, do hold on your side,
And help me live forever in your life.
I forgive you all; I hope you do the same,
And tell everyone to remember my name;
For no pain can remain now, no guilt or wrong,
And with that joy of drifting I say - 'so long',
For one last time to all I've known,
I request you all always be strong,
As I had till my last breath shown...

Day Of Deliverance

I’m just another guy on the street,
Working everyday to make his ends meet,
A guy without a name, no distinction as such,
You won’t find him in the news or newspapers much,
He is a common man with common deeds as we know,
He will go to places where his work lets him go,
And although he fully blends with the common kind,
He retains only one thing – his body and mind.
He loves himself; his aim is to be happy,
He always knows what he wants his life to be.
You would also be like him if you knew
Where to find happiness or where it grew,
Where rested the eternal blissful sense,
And how search and discover deliverance.
You wouldn’t find them easily yet they exist,
And you should never doubt this or persist
To find them – their solitude is their solace,
They never reveal themselves in any place.
Yet they are victims to some among us,
Who feed on their brains and destroy the carcass.
They want their fame at the cost of others strive,
Those who treat the tree of life
Not as a tribute but as a sacrifice
Of the mind; they are the ones that despise
Life and preach religion and brotherhood;
The weakest of all; and you should
Never have listened to them, yet you did,
The only act they taught not to forbid,
The act of sacrifice, the greatest self-immolation;
The perfect ingredient to feed a corrupt nation,
You built entertainment to feed the hungry
Mind, their thoughts diverted, killing the free.
And it worked because they sanctioned and bought
It; but do they know that you taught
To live life by escaping pain not seeking pleasure
As the only incentive to effort, the ultimate treasure;
You wanted to stand on my virtues, my power to produce
And teach me what a guilt it Is to do so and use
My own weapon against me, by my own consent,
You wanted me to gift you my own achievement,
You wanted to sacrifice me as an offering to God,
Cut my body and eat it, on my nod,
Drain me dry and move to the next
Victim, continue fulfilling your ever-hungry zest.
Thought you could feed me, teach me these?
Why it is good to sacrifice and selfless too please,
And why it’s selfish to think of one’s own ambitions,
To move towards it relentlessly, without conditions.
Well guess what I’ve outgrown your syllabi,
The one after so many years to ask the ‘why’,
To question everything not take things for granted,
I’ve left the humble apartment you rented.
You tried to stop me with fear that I’ll die
Out there, but I am free to roam; if I cry
It will be my own fault; I’ll be free of the guilt
That I never lived, designed, created and built
While you built up lies, obscuring reality,
Wanted to give up my mind, losing the moral part of me.
You divide while I get divided, not
Protest but merely accept my doom and rot
Away, but I won’t because there’s a flaw in your plan,
I’ve stopped playing victim, one always can.
Man is perfect, supreme, of the highest intellect,
Let the parasites preach of God, religion and sect.
Let them call Man evil and that he is prone to err,
That he’ll never rise above the common barrier,
That capability is not true, production a sin,
Make ‘living’ against law and just box him in.
Keep him tied, let him know he’s not better
Than the millions ‘like’ him and he’s bound to stutter.
You’re the parasite, the destroyer, a pest of the mind,
To harm the strong-willed and destroy his kind.
You have nothing to offer so you have nothing to fear,
You aim a gun to all but keep them near.
You’re game is up, the victims refuse to sanction,
And willingly consent when you threaten to take action.
You said people are not enslaved today? Look now,
As I tell them not to, and you wonder how
I knew it, come on; I’m not your biggest fan,
I’m the only one who knows about the scams you ran;
And you claimed it to be the biggest justice to all,
While you knew someday, I’d make your empire fall.
Wish granted. See it all crumble to dust,
As the prime movers are the ones to strike first,
And by striking first I mean they go on a strike,
Try to build the world left by the men you dislike.
Feel free to rule, feel free to rob and loot,
Try to run the mills without getting smeared with soot.
It’s all yours now, everything you wanted to conquer,
So plunder, just drop that pretence to plunder,
You have none to hide from, nothing left to be,
And with others like you, let the evil roam free.
While you smile in relief, satisfied and more,
And you’ll escape from this? I wouldn’t be sure.
This time you are climbing with shoulders to stand,
With the most vile and depraved, lending a hand,
And the next thing you know is that you’re the bait,
Now you must carry the burden, the entire weight.
So give up and stand aside, let them take over
Who know what to do and do it and never
Give excuses, because each day they strive,
Is a day lived in pride – a day lived in life.
He’s the one in control now, the others perished,
Before you even realise that, you’ll be finished.
They will make the world better than this –
Like heaven or the lost city of Atlantis,
Where heroes will rise and each reap what you sow,
And parasites will never be allowed to grow.
Looks like a dream doesn’t it, too real to believe,
You survived in constant fear to ‘live’.
Feel the rise today, for it is bound to happen,
You will never, while you live, be able to stop them,
Because you started this – your own decline,
Like a poison to feed and rot the mind.
There is still time, lie and capture all you can,
With time we will see the age of heroes, of Man.
The world is bigger than the hate you expand,
Love and happiness dissolves partitions of land;
Be patient, I’m raising my stance to hit,
Till then, I’m just another guy on the street.
