The Odyssey of Happiness

And in the breeze of autumn trees,
I found the love of birth,
Sought paradise, opened my eyes,
Found my heaven on earth;

Like the empty stare of a desert bare,
Had lost what I held dear,
Though I lost the good, never thought I would,
Get the chalice of happiness here;

With the sea of calm that ends the storm,
The life of struggle is dead,
As night refutes and dawn dilutes,
The colour of love is red;

With the colour inflamed, destiny tamed,
Trickles of desire storm,
And like the birth of love on earth,
Crimson hues are born;

The colours dance with my romance,
The palette of darkness shine,
And even though it may come and go,
Light and darkness define;

For who can say which one will stay,
Forever clung to a soul,
The dark undesired, in the end gets tired,
And happiness becomes the goal;

But the outcast few, with evergreen hue,
Who united the dark and light,
Surrender to none, are the happiest one,
Having felt the horizon in sight;

What to do when 'the one' greets you,
Passion runs outside,
To light a fire, burning desire,
Where feelings cannot hide;

Go with the flow or deal a blow,
For all things true must end,
To dim the fire and curb desire,
Let silence be thy friend,

As leaves decay, fall in the way,
And happiness is bound,
Tread too light, the leaves they might,
Crumble before being found;

Too soft to touch these feelings clutch
The barren soul too well,
And those around know love abound,
Before the kingdoms fell;

Bliss is grey, where dreamers stay,
While Time relentless fly,
A single step may trickle a break,
And tumble without a why;

The slate is bare, like an astute stare
Is asking you to fill,
And what you write, defines the bright,
Before it starts to kill;

For who can say which one will stay,
Between your destiny and fate,
Work the clock before you stop,
Else the odyssey sings too late;

So gauge your time, though past your prime,
It may turn better than is,
This odyssey that is but me,
Must end in sheer bliss.

To the dreams in paradise

And the bow meets the dreams in paradise,

After many a fight through the seas,

Replacing the dark with the sun in your eyes,

Breaking the quiet and feeling the breeze;

I have always wondered what dreams felt like,

Living itself, in the life of a man,

Where greets the brave with eternal light,

But only the brave who venture the run;

The dark had cast a shadow of doubt,

The fear of grey and melancholy,

But the bow was swift to cut the cloud,

And stay on a track in the unknown sea;

As always it is for those who endure,

To venture out with the little they had,

Through their toil, the burdens they bore,

With the only hope to meet the myriad;

And help will come to the eager to learn,

When the storm and fear would rattle the truss,

Whether it be through lessons from man,

Or in anguish, find that strength in us;

Dream to venture and be steady in your seas,

For life is so much more than it is,

Through your light let the others see,

What dreams look like in unchained breeze.

It is never too late, you are never too old,

To find the riches more valued than....

My coat is bloody, my will is bare...

(For the countless medical personnel who toil silently)

A thousand souls to reap
Before the eyes glaze and turn to dust,
Tears cannot mourn the dead
While the living fear to rot and rust,
Damned be the living soul who seeks
To purge the hatred with steels of cold,
The blood that fumes inside the veins
Is that of a coward disguised as bold;

We are that human to seek joy
In harming those who give us life,
Human-inhuman mixed in one,
No back to bear, no will to strife,
So they shun our world, this paradise,
To kick the bearer of life and light,
The brevity of human life can say
That none that strong can stand the night;

So we stand together, stand for one,
Together till the dark allays to dawn,
Against the world, against the sins,
I stand tall and I stand convinced;
Guardian we are against all sin,
Let us stand before we all cave in,
"Give me blood", once led our land,
In the darkest times, come take my hand.

The Purple Stranger

Deep in the midst of a throbbing heartland,
Of blood, emotions and strings that tie,
A sage of life had a question to ask,
Inwards bound as I passed him by,
A life of sorrow had brought me there,
When deep within my heart I looked,
Burning red with anger and rage,
And in that pain I found a voice,
With a question that started a dark descent,
How much does it cost to tether all ties?
Dismantle hope and damage faith?
How much does it cost to live or die?
I was left arguing with myself,
With me as a spectator of my show,
And the more I saw the more I felt
That I was out of tune and place,
All alone, how nice it would be
To share my solitude with someone,
And then it clicked, the tingling grew,
I was the narrator of this book,
I hold the pen and the key,
To write the blank or leave the show,
So I forged on my page a few lines,
Let such a morning call me awake,
Dedicate this afternoon to your thoughts,
Let this evening be kept for you,
Let such a night be the dawn of love.

So large a gesture life is,
That death seems fleeting,
So humbling is that vast living,
So sudden the veil of death,
That we must fight to save life,
Amongst those who are misunderstood,
Less understood or the not-at-all,
We must fight with love as the weapon,
For only once does a chance come
To create a fairy-tale life, a story
Seeming impossible at its very sustainance,
Yet we ignore its very possibility,
In order to do what is right,
Not what we truly yearn,
And that feeling which sets us free,
Goes by fleeting, subdued,
We return to the present logic,
And start begging, looking for more,
Looking to make us whole again,
But that moment is gone forever,
The faith that looked at us for hope
Washed away misunderstood,
Drenched of all colours.
And we learn the significance of life,
Of moments of joy in trickles of rain,
Of strands of sunlight on the grass,
Of a soul to share our solitude,
And for that, that very rare gem,
That golden hue on grass,
Is why we must love all the living,
With all our love undefined.

And let the purple iris bloom again,
For it blooms without light, in cold or rain,
It blooms in the desert and stone the same,
That spring of hope is all it takes
To spark the feeling of forgotten love,
To spark a fountain of all desires,
Those only cherished by we the living,
When the magic is rekindled, let it flow,
The inner soul does not search that far,
To be at one with the purple iris,
One in love and one in war,
For in this life we must connect,
Who knows how many chances we get,
To make a book while we live,
Changing the lives of the unfortunate,
The less understood or the not-at-all,
To make a fairy-tale come to life,
Or live a dream even for a day,
Who knows how long the iris lasts?
Those not tormented by blood and mind,
For we try to get what we do not have,
Yet the iris remains eternal,
And when comes a day that it quickly dies,
Our eyes are opened for all we missed,
Or failed to reach, to interpret,
And purple becomes the new blue,
And me, just another stranger,
Out of colour, but not today,
For a purpose grew to protect that
Which I love, and with time,
Be worthy of its bloom.

Goodbye My World Of War

You stood there looking at me for help
At a time when the world had none for you,
You asked me a question with your eyes
And thought that I was human enough to do
The right and save your world from fading
While you stood there hoping that God was kind,
In my eyes you saw the warmth of the good,
And wished that hope was burning in mind,
The world of hate has taught me well
To neglect truth and kill hope that seeds,
To curb all feelings lest you decide
To break them all for your selfish needs,
They hide at night to prey on hope
And leave the broken like you to die,
While the strong like God has lost the heart
To mend the damage of evil that lie
In the heads of all, ready for war,
With you, with the purest form of you
And kill the warrior that lies within
Ourselves, battling darkness new,

And I abandoned you, I felt no care,
You were left in dark without a light,
And you knew no God and cried inside,
For men like us, lost in the night,
And your eyes had seen betrayal again,
Because once warriors we were strong,
And His forked tongue does speak of hope
Like a life of fight was all but wrong;
You know not of the battle scars,
And what it takes for them to form,
My life was riddled with hurdles anew
And my patience hides a world of storm.
And as I left, the darkness smiled,
Claiming another victim new,
The guilt I felt made the wounds arise,
From the depths of Hell, the broken grew,
And rage filled me with regret
At how I lost my chance to fight
A battle for you in the world of war,
With the undying love of light;

To you I speak, and for you I shall
Change my self once more to fight,
The tired shall harbour hope once more,
I welcome the neglected world of night.
Give me the strength to find your love,
Give me the strength to endure pain,
Set me free from the clouded thoughts
And let me find you once again.
From dust to dust the life revolves,
A fraction of time to spare for none,
The world of war has no survivors,
To them you are many, to me you are one.

The Eternal Seeker

Knowledge is hidden for the common kind,
The fleeing mind cherish pleasures
And travel the road of life unknown,
They seek happiness, ever fleeting, ever young,
To stash their soul on the earth,
That end is not a happy one;
For the pleasure of seeking the truth evades,
Leaving one empty, destined to decay,
They consume and fake happiness,
Their life is non-living with nothing to offer,
All they want are a pair of eyes,
That is their life, their lie.
But for those with the thirst of Nature deep,
Who cleans the dusty book to learn,
For them the cost of money is dust,
And time is more precious than diamond.
Deep knowledge is their truth,
Their strings of emotion lightly dance,
The bridges they burn light the way,
They reach the soul in need of love,
Like light that shines brighter than joy,
And give them more than they can think,
But those like them are rare to find,
Harder to understand still,
Stuck between the now and forever.
The secret to their eternal joy,
Is eternal sorrow which you do not see,
For those who know the dark that well,
Can only show the way;
In radiance as in darkness,
They have the same freedom,
My tears for the quiet life departed,
Or unjustly so, not the weak,
There is a certain pride in death,
Felt by the seeker of knowledge and love,
Their presence being felt by those that count.
Such a feeling cannot be shown or shared,
Nor can it be documented,
But only lived and set free.
The poor have given up on truth,
For survival is the greatest teacher,
Which has not students only victims,
Just like war of any kind,
All of us are forever poor,
All are hungry for something more,
But some are the right kind of hungry,
Seek out knowledge and ask the universe,
And you will find it someday,
Between now and forever.

Innocence

Like the first flower of the morning
You shower the world with your happiness,
Thy question is what the world forgot,
Among your curiously insatiable soul,
You find the light of the world,
The source of pain is unknown to you,
And yet you see the best in all,
Just as they see the beauty in you,
The world embraces you, ignores your fall,
Because you are their forbidden angst,
The only sorrow in your light
Is in the absence of their attention,
And that drives you insane,
Until you start to wither,
The decay of life lays you bare,
Sorrow fills the sweetest core,
And the sweet starts to sour,
Maybe you do not see the sorrow,
The pain that the viewer languish in,
The reality of the world is but a rainbow
To you, like an eternal dancing flame,
You are only conscious about yourself,
And the soulless preservation of your light,
While the darkness remains unknown,
To be found in chapter transitions;
Maybe the dark is not that sinister,
Maybe those who suffer more are kinder too,
But you care not, you care about yourself,
About your fellow flowers dancing with joy,
Nothing else crosses your mind,
And while you neglect the world,
The very soil in which you grow,
That sorrow reigns unhitched,
And no matter how hard or soft you shine
The blind will remain in darkness,
The very cause of your pride
Might one day rip you off eden,
The very dark you neglected
Might one day be the hope you embrace,
And where will I be then?
I shall be far away, never to return,
While you will preserve thy memory,
I shall be making mine,
The very pain of separation will break you
This absence will burn you alive,
Your pride will melt to tears,
Yet now as I see you, in your innocence,
That world is a long way ahead,
And the wise speaks not of it,
The wise are neglected thus,
Until those that deride come for peace,
Till that day, enjoy your oblivion,
Bask in your newfound glory,
Radiate that selfless light,
For you are the child of innocence,
And I am the darkness, ethos of sorrow,
The harsh reality, the naked truth,
The kingdom of hell allows no light,
For character is forged in dark fires,
In the dark, hope is remoulded,
So is suffering all that sorrowful?
And is innocence all that pleasing?
Smile Nature's first morning flower,
For you are unburdened by these, yet,
Unlike the belief, I never was burdened by these,
For I was driven by the love of innocence.

Thy Kingdom Come

Morning rises like a phoenix from the ashes of despair,
Fending to the broken when hope is all but there,
Abundance of fire within dispels the darkened hate
Cordoned by ignorance, usher knowledge through the gate
Of heaven, a serene agitation ensues today,
The fountainhead of a drunken day,
Filled with the mastery of self and mind,
Wisdom to seep in and courage to bind,
In forever halls of purpose at play,
I find my soul, ignite my day;

Long before the sultriness of an afternoon of quell,
I gathered my ground against the wind where the mighty fell,
And when after the plunge the dull calm did dwell,
We roamed together like victors would, in the rising tides of Hell,
The day was fierce, the purpose sure,
And the heavens witnessed the burden we bore,
Unwavering we rose and stood our mark,
Defending the true, banishing the dark,
And every hand that called for aid,
Was met long before their light could fade;

An enlightened era comes to a close as another rises afar,
The journey from dawn to dusk is done, filled with battle scars,
To retrospect just lose yourself within this hallowed ground,
The turning time begins to stop, the soul is lost and found,
Mastering the morning, crusading the night,
Transforming ourselves to match the fight,
Where faith is found through those beside you,
And love inflamed causes dreams to be true,
Our life was love, our morals true,
Come ride the greatness that I find in you.

Two Tickets To The Ride

Life is, riding on the freeway waiting to turn at the milepost,
But who's counting,

Had two tickets to the ride and I was surely going alone,
Now that you left me,

You can take what you keep,
Run afar on your bare feet,
Steal a glance when you rise,
I never wished for a goodbye.

Tears of sorrow running through the soldier,
Like a war blood-borne.
Meeting you had washed away the empty,
Did you take my hand?

Before I broke, I pushed you away,
I'm in that kind of life anyway,
So you can live where you miss me,
I'll keep that ticket that you will not need;

Not as a memory or guilty pain,
For another life, until we meet again....

Absence

The leaves decay and fall on the ground,
And the once known path becomes a forgotten pile,
The river withers and leaves no trail,
The birds have flown away,
In search of better lives.
The Sun has left and the warmth is gone,
Life is lost in a long way home,
The darkness comes in darker hues,
None welcome it, like an abandoned child.
It is not loved or chosen,
But it is a child of Nature,
It inspires a few undaunted,
And leaves the rest blind,
Those who care not and whine,
Stuck in the same frame.

I grant you life, I grant you freedom,
But you are incapable of life now,
While I have nothing, no one,
No love, no care, no chains,
Only a bittersweet romance with Time,
And in time, with you.
In my absence, you will grow,
In my love you will wander far,
In my life you will gain its absence,
Only to be eternal,
And you will know,
To be eternal.

Minimal Pace

A distant run;
Alone, uncertain, uncharted;
Anxiety fills up,
Drowning the fears,
The world watches
Or sleeps;
The day begins to run,
Show-time, the real grind,
Forward and far,
A distant run;
Feet tapping on the road,
The earth greeting you with force,
Like men deserve to live.
It frees my hindrances.
Heart beats cruise, vision clears,
The road flows beneath,
No more waste, no more wait,
The familiar ground is past,
It lies behind.
Cannot turn,
Picking up momentum,
Surroundings drown,
A rhythm rise,
So does unknown pain,
Shortage of air,
I am drowning in air.
Must stop,
Retrospect,
Become enriched;
A new energy surge,
An old reckoning,
Primitive, hungry,
Pain recurs,
So does focus,
Undying will,
Reasons fade,
Just the road and me,
Run fast, run far,
The pain was temporary,
But necessary;
Spirit restructured,
Drenched in strength,
The way to live.
The difficult, conquered.
Lesson learnt alone,
Obstacles did not grow,
Only the strength to rise beyond them
Became bigger;
Some get everything,
Born in it all,
Others strive and get,
And history is written,
At minimal pace.

Bullets and Bandages

The highest scores would not matter now,
When lessons learnt were tossed and burnt,
The money you make will get you far,
And when life is spent, you can repent;

You failed to open your eyes and live,
The raging storm that you try to calm,
The withered pieces of broken time,
Searching to hide the pain inside;

Those tiring days without a smile,
You hoped it cured but you endured,
That silver line, when washed the grey,
You hoped would stay but it slipped away;

Latch onto a living soul
Next to you, though untrue,
Falsify your living state,
To sing a song that you belong;

Try to hide that vicious self,
Extend your arm for silent harm,
Your empty self has not matured,
You've had your chance for true romance;

Kill that show and look inside,
When all is lost that does not cost,
Or look where you are, your life is not
Those faces around with layered sounds;

You hope for a refill, at a wrong place,
Like waves at a beach, you wished to reach,
Reality dawns a little too late,
You miss those days to choose your ways;

Feelings fly, the mind has leaked,
That ship has sailed and you've failed,
You ignored to work hard then,
Now time and tide are not on your side;

The days went by like silent nights,
Your heart beats stop, 'cause there's no prop,
The effort was brave but the soul untrue,
Not built to last, but that is past;

Moving ahead and hoping is tough,
Clinging to a place, to spend your days,
Trying to figure or not trying at all,
Must be left behind where you cannot find;

The canvas is empty, the day is done,
The coffee's cold, down goes the sun,
My thoughts are numb, the dark crawls in,
My life feels strained, the chances thin.

Sorrow's deeper when its borne,
Worked so hard that I cannot go on,
Hope is a soldier's road to home,
My feelings are homeless as they roam;

I've been there and you can cry,
But happiness is not just meant to die,
The struggle forward must rise a fire,
And that exists what you desire;

I Propose My Purpose

A thousand miles between us,
Yet we travel together,
Time connects or breaks us,
Like day follows the night;
I yearn to grow together,
To live by being one,
Life without you is senseless,
Directionless and devoid of dreams;
Only I can complete you,
Because you move with me,
Only I can define this infinite,
A love that becomes more,
A passion that replenishes itself,
An obsession build to last;
But I hide it from the surface,
In the dark crevices of my mind,
Where light cannot reach or be emitted,
As it remains illuminated,
Like a greater source of energy,
Like god in human form,
A dream to be tasted for later,
A gift to be unwrapped together,
Do you know what it is?
It is Hope.
That which lights my way;
I hide my thoughts from the world,
I am not strong enough
To carry that life on my shoulders,
I do not want to be so weak,
Ashamed at me, when I meet you,
So I build myself, my mind, my body,
I forge my character in black and gold,
I drown in the depths of bluish hues,
I fall and rise as I climb,
My peril teaches me,
My difficulties build me,
And my struggles fuel me,
Through all this I hope and believe
My character defines me;
I cannot let go now,
I cannot give you up,
We must be together,
One day you will realize,
That I have existed for you,
My love has been for you,
My life has been for you,
Until that moment of time,
When I will be sure and complete,
Let this remain a tribute to you,
Let this guide you to me,
Faster than I travel to you,
My mind is set and body ready,
To take up the challenge and rise,
Or take it to my grave,
To you my fire, my love my Purpose.

To the best in us.

Fare Thee Well

Raindrops falling, soaking me wet,
Feelings are alike, leave behind what you get,
Emotions are burning, feels hollow inside,
My tears are for memories, I can no longer hide;

I try to collect all the pictures framed within,
A longing to return to all the places I've been,
With the pain of letting go, after I've played my part,
I'll leave to be free; so I rise to depart

And I'll be gone, I'll be gone,
When was the last time you looked inside my eyes;
All along I traveled alone,
I am tough but can you not see my silent cries;

Raindrops falling, calming my mind,
Moments are closing, I've lost track of time,
A life spent behind me, a long way to go,
With you here and now I, want Time to slow;

I don't want to return, I don't want to go back now,
I wish to stay forever more, only if I just knew how,
Maybe I'm not where I dreamed, maybe you deserved the best of me,
Maybe you cannot see, neither am I where used to be;

And I'll depart, for another start,
Let my good times be remembered as a gift to you,
Letting you go was the hardest part,
Let me fade and shed my light on something new;

Until we meet again,
Let your dreams come true,
And just like the rain,
Let it be a part of you,
As raindrops are falling,
Soaking me wet;
Live like the rainbow,
Until the sun sets.

The Planet's Infiltration

Dear resolute and purposeful men,
In a world where hope is dimming,
Listen and speak between the phrases,
I hope your minds are hearing;

Walking the earth for a thousand years,
Happy and contempt unlike yourself,
Alienated by my folk,
‘Cause I take pride in myself;
The people interest me no more,
They despise my mind, my condition,
For spreading reason and happiness,
I’m the planet’s infiltration;

Too many audience, few performers,
They are running a barren show,
We love getting entertained,
Our problems leave us nowhere to go;
Staring at the screen or the nukes in hand,
It is the same addiction,
For not following their kind blindly,
I’m the planet’s infiltration;

The world lives scared and tied like huddle,
Loathing change and rise of reason,
A system of chains with useless links,
Adapting like the change of seasons;
Knowledge and skills are working well,
But for them there exists competition,
small step is a long road to climb,
To destroy this infiltration;

Despite the odds and against it,
Only the solitary unseen tries,
Our kind is the architect of our failure,
Ask me how a hero dies;
Living in a crowded mindless soup,
Watching heroes working in the background,
Seeing our future so very clearly,
Some destroy while some are bound;

No one wants to see the way you do,
Don’t waste yourself for the nation,
Strive above the common tide,

Signed – the planet’s infiltration.

Grad Life Rap (The worst rap ever)

I remember the time I got in, to be a grad
Spending a lot of money, it made me sad,
Those times were bad, my future insecure,
Until I reached the grad-life door,
New faces, new work, new hopes, new life,
A robot working from ten to five,
Life was a line, the routine was new,
It was under control, distractions were few,
Thought I’d learn something better and useful,
Apply it; rise up, the dream was pretty cool,
But dreams have a habit of getting worse,
And real fast too, like under a curse;

One wrong step, I saw my dreams die,
I was lazy not to make another try,
It was my fault and I don’t know why
I failed to check it and then time flew by;
Instead of the driver, I blamed the ride,
And thus began my downhill slide,
Though I got back up, it was on the wrong side,
My boat was caught in the grad-tide.

Slowly I started enjoying myself,
Working with others eager to help,
Things began moving, starting to flow,
It opened my mind, ready to know,
It changed my way of looking at life,
I was happy living the ten to five,
Took up challenges, new or faced,
Learnt to get a bit more stressed,
Things were smoother than at first,
But slowly my ideas started to rust,
As I got bound in the given frame,
Left the ride, began cursing the lane;

While everyone ran, I started to slow,
Forcing my mind, unwilling to go,
Results were out; I had nothing to show,
Things were hard because I thought it so;
It’s sad when you look at life that way,
Instead of knowing what you've gained,
Live the moments, don’t sum each day,
I think you know what I want to say.

You learn the most from those you meet,
Scavenging, bunking and how to cheat,
Though some are true and stay till the end,
The rest treat you how you treat them,

There are those working lies and deceit,
Fork-tongued people trying to chew every bit,
Many faced, geek heads, excited or half-dead,
Wasted days, hangover in bed,
Sad souls, lost art, daily depressed,
Going-out-freak, always ready to get dressed,
Unstable, unclear or a museum relic,
And those who make you feel happy or sick,
Ignorant, arrogant, joker or lazy,
Fake lovers, simple, stupid or crazy,
Wicked minds trying to be overly mature,
Playing every side of the human nature;

You could study them all or let them go by,
Don’t stop worrying or let time fly,
And at the end when the end is nigh,
Get depressed, complain or get high;
However life was, it was made by me,
You can never take this part of my memory,
However I rise, whatever I’ll be,
It will be the pages of my history;

Whatever you do, don’t come to me,
Tell me I didn't warn you or blame somebody,
High or low, that’s what you’ll be,
Because it’s tough getting a college degree.

Disconnected

You can forget me,
I will not mind.
For today I,
Reached the bottom,
After hitting the ground;
Slipped and fell,
Descending for years;
I know it for sure,
I've never been so far
Down from the top;
No sign of life,
No existence of time,
Only way now is up.
Back to basics;
Hard work will help,
So will consistency,
Hunger to rise,
To emerge;
Not in this world,
To the one I crave,
The one I want to create,
And I will.
Thus it starts,
From this time on,
This is day one,
No days off.
The time is right,
The fear is gone,
My will is strong,
Purpose is sure.
That’s all I need,
Now, I can smile.

Let The Sun Rise

Subdue those feelings in my heart,
I’ll be fine if I look away,
Capture those moments making you smile,
Losing them somewhere on my way;
Oh! All the broken hearts afloat,
Sailing in the river tracing boat,
Going somewhere you’re not sure,
Let the sun rise just once more,
I can never tell you how I feel,
Never to meet if another life be real,
Watching the sun set, all alone,
Let the sun rise just once more;

Smiling though your heart is in pain,
Hiding those tears in the rain,
Guilt is greater than your shame,
People don’t remember your name;
And in the evening of our days,
When we've lost our choice of ways,
So when I greet you at your door,
Let the sun rise just once more;
For the life you never chose to be,
When our deeds flow down the sea,
As the sun sets by that shore,
Let the sun rise just once more;

Forgotten moments that I've lived,
Moments I don’t wish to keep,
Dreams of things I wanted to gain,
From which I've willingly abstained,
For circumstances are adverse in life,
The hero always struggles to rise,
At the darkness of its core,
Let the sun rise just once more;
Keep the joy of knowing you’re alive,
Making something out of this life,
Meeting you when I explore,
Let the sun rise just once more.

In The End

As the day comes to a close,
Sunlight fades to a golden glow,
Rising darkness emerging slow,
Time has paused in its flow,
And my soul is not willing to go,
Lost a friend, not long ago;
Sitting by his side, the silence speaks,
While he rests peacefully underneath,
The voices playing inside my head,
Too bold to lead, too meek to spread,
Slowly consuming a part of me,
As I close my eyes, forget reality;
Trying to capture the memories shared,
I feel them slipping, I had not cared
To preserve them, and now I find myself
Wanting to wake my friend and ask for help,
And I realize, although I didn’t see,
It was the only thing that he left me;
Sadness grows as I rise to depart,
Tears are only for the weakest heart,
I cannot cry, that sense is gone,
With a hollow heart I must carry on,
Filled with regret for the moments lost,
Waiting to fathom what the priceless cost,
Should’ve given more time, he was a good friend,
Only if I’d known what lay in the end.

Confined

The darkness seems aglow, painted by aided light,
A candle burning slowly in the rainy night,
Outside the cold winds blow, the moon is on the sky,
It looks another way, seen by another life,
If sorrow never leaves you, Time becomes a pain,
If age has left you now, you don’t remember when,
Your features make you blur and you don’t look the same,
Like you would if you had a name;

Sitting inside my cell, watching my life go by,
I can’t remember when my teardrops drown the sky,
Outside the storm may calm, never the same inside,
It’s like the ashes rising, when the fire died,
Imprisoned in a cell, locked up inside my thoughts,
Until the vibrant mind has turned to brittle rot,
Living the life oppressed, the stronger roams about,
Caged in for shouting out;

Counting the stars aglow, like golden fire spots,
I feel my thoughts back tracking to connect the dots,
Moments of solitude, moments of love and pain,
Pictures are pouring down, like droplets in the rain,
But when it strikes the ground, the pictures break apart,
Like feelings leaving when, a lover breaks a heart,
I try collecting them and storing on the rack,
In hopes of returning back;

I see another life, a life devoid of glee,
I didn’t know back then what it was meant to be,
The grey would turn to black, the colours drenched in gloom,
Living a world with rules, set for impending doom,
And all I used to feel, how love can be so grim?
I never had a guide, just when I needed him,
Swayed off the course too fast, fell in the deepest pit,
Where no other light can be lit;

The rain begins to calm, my mind begins to ease,
Feeling the droplets floating in the sudden breeze,
The free are free to roam; their thoughts are never tied,
Why does the world behave then, like it’s not alike?
And while the child’s asleep, the evil plays about,
And he is left to wake up in a world of doubt,
So when he tries to dream, the world is not so kind,
Just like me he lives confined;

I’ve lived my life, in utter sacrifice,
Looking through metal bars, at the clear skies,
Maybe the dreams are gone; maybe the hope’s alight,
I hear my heart still beating in the silent night,
Climbing through narrow panes, to the world outside,
Floating through clouds ablaze, on a final ride,
I hear my mind go free, starting to speak alike,
Maybe it’s time to rise….
